Hi folks, sorry for such late notice. September got away from me and I don’t want us to miss out on the call to corporate prayer and stay silent at such a time as this.

We’ll be gathering at my (Sam Hazleton’s) house this evening at 6:30pm for an hour of “Friday Night Fights” prayer. I live at 10 Twilight Drive in Clifton Park.

My brother-in-law, Pastor Kent Davis of Restoration Christian Fellowship in Sarasota Florida encouraged me earlier this week with a single word, “Nineveh!”

Knowing that the election is forty days out, I was instantly reminded of Jonah’s pronouncement: “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown” (Jonah 3:4). This same word could rightly be applied at this moment to America. We know that there are great judgements and powerful spiritual forces that stand against our great nation and threaten imminently to tear it apart. The church, like Jonah, has been asleep in the bottom of the boat, heading in the exact wrong direction, trying to wait out the storm. We, like Jonah, must be awakened in prayer and bring a timely word and opportunity of repentance to our nation. It is up to us, the church, to once again stand in the gap and stop the Lord from doing what he doesn’t want to do. If we repent, perhaps he will relent! (Jonah 3:9)

Had Jonah not preached, Nineveh would not have repented. Had Nineveh not repented, it would have been destroyed. Let us not be guilty of shirking our responsibility in this hour! We can stop this!!! He is a merciful God!!!
